Zinedine Zidane

Zinedine Yazid Zidane, commonly known as Zinedine Zidane or “Zizou”, is a former French professional midfielder and current manager of Real Madrid. He marked an era in world football with his elegance and technical skills.

He played for French national team and a few football clubs including Cannes, Bordeaux, Juventus and Real Madrid. As an elite playmaker, Zidane was renowned for his elegance, vision, ball control and technique. He helped these clubs win UEFA Champions League, La Liga, Serie A and so on. He has got three the Best FIFA Men’s Player awards and Ballon d’Or award.

From 1994 to 2006, Zidane played three World Cups and three European Football Championships for his country. French national team won the title of the 1998 FIFA World Cup and the 2000 European Football Championship.

Zidane was named the best European footballer of the past 50 years in the UEFA Golden Jubilee Poll in 2004. He is widely regarded as one of the best players in the world.

This legendary footballer played his the 100th game at Stade de France and then announced his retirement as a player. Stade de France is the home stadium of French national team with a capacity of 81,338 making it the sixth-largest stadium in Europe. The stadium was built for 1998 France FIFA World Cup and France won the World Cup for the first time in this year, which was a big success for whole France.

As a manager of Real Madrid, he helped the club win European Football Championship, UEFA Super Cup, FIFA Club World Cup and so on. In 2007, he got The Best FIFA Men’s Coach award.
